Sword of Icarus Pendant | Multiple Options

Inspired by Icarus, the son of the inventor Daedulus, this pendant is hand carved in the traditional lost-wax casting method. According to legend, Daedalus constructed wings made out of feathers and beeswax for Icarus and himself so that they could escape imprisonment from the island of Crete. Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too high, as the sun would melt the wax holding the wings together. Icarus did not heed his father’s warning, and paid for the mistake with his life. 

Swords represent air, truth, and clarity. Wings reach out from each side of the pendant, a symbolic reminder of the danger that comes when one overextends their limits, while the wings represent the courage to achieve one’s goals.
