Budai Jade necklace in Sterling Silver or 18k Gold Over Silver
The popular figure known as the Laughing Buddha - named the Budia - is often mistaken for the historical Buddha Siddhartha Gautama. Buddha means enlightened one. In some forms of Taoism Budai is known as a god of happiness and plenty.
In Japan, Budia is referred to as Hotei and is one of the Seven Lucky Gods (Shichi Fukujin). He is almost always shown smiling or laughing, hence his nickname in Chinese, the "Laughing Buddha". This piece is made with cubic zirconia and dyed jade. Real jade available as a custom order.
